Just got an email from Eurotunnel telling me that they are going to extend the validity of my frequent traveller account by 12 months. It was going to run out on 15 May and I still have 7 trips on it. So hopefully that will give us a chance to use a few of those tickets.

I’ve got it today !

Just checked and I received the email. The account hasnt changed yet. Copied and pasted it into our conversation

Me too and just contacted Manic to tell him as well. I hope it actually does come to part as we seem to be upsetting Macron and cronies. I read the EU is suffering a big downturn in sales to the UK and upsetting their manufacturing and industry.

Same here, we now have 18 months left, great move by E/T.

I haven't received an email re FT. They're probably contacting those initially who have already used some of their trips.

My wallet of 10 was taken out a few weeks before lockdown and hasn't been amended to a later expiry date. Expect they'll be in touch in due course.

We got the e mail today

But it says you can only book via phone no online booking

Still not playing the game with those who are not Frequent Travellers.

Hi all
Time now to praise Eurotunnel. My booking that I made in February for travel at end of May has been cancelled and Eurotunnel have given me a voucher for the full amount paid to be used for another booking. It is valid for 1 year from today. Well done Eurotunnel although we are not Frequent travellers (wish we were) we thought we were being hard done by. Not any more.

When I contacted them they said to move our journey within one year of when we booked which was end January. I e-mailed them back and said that wasn't good enough as we already had another trip booked for September and didn't want to go again in the winter. They then sent another e-mail with a voucher number with a full refund for another journey up to 12 months from that date which was 12 May. Bit earlier than we would have liked but better than it was previously.

We are not FT either, probably should have been this year as we had 5 journeys booked!

We find that you only need 2 or 3 return journeys for it to be cheaper to open an FT account than buy singly. 10 one way tickets cost £460 and you have to pay an extra £12 for each time you use a motorhome. So using only 4 tickets cost you £127 each way and using only 6 tickets cost you £89 each way. How does that compare with buying tickets singly or in pairs?

You're right of course peterc10 that it would have been cheaper but at the time there didn't seem to be anyone wanting a partner for FT. We're hoping we'll be able to use our September tickets but if that isn't possible then I will contact ET again and hopefully get a further 12 month extension from when I contact them.

TBH I never share, because we would normally use at least 4 ourselves and I think that £127 each way is a good price for the flexibility it offers. We normally make up our mind a few days before we decide to go and leave the buying of the return tickets until we know we are on our way home.
