I've come across a 2006 Flair with factory-fitted air suspension on the rear axle. Does anyone know where this comes from - Wabco? - and whether it's any good?

Wabco produce the air suspension components for many, probably most, cars that use it so I'd imagine it's a very reliable brand.

You say “factory fitted” what chassis is it on IVECO or Fiat, if IVECO I would think it was OE before N+B built on it if Fiat I don’t know anything about it.

It's a 2006 8000iL on Iveco 60C17, 3.0L. From the N&B catalogue it looks like they offered a rear air suspension option.

Think it will be chassis factory fit with the buttons on the dashboard,

Three buttons bottom row left to right, UP DOWN and the last one fixes the set position for boarding a ferry etc otherwise it would self level at 5 or 10 mph.

@funflair Thanks for the picture. I think that's it, I'll ask for a picture.

What do you think about that system vs the VB 4C, or upgrading with a VB 2C at the front, which I think you did?

Well obviously the 4C is the next level but not had a van with it for a direct comparison, the original IVECO fit is allegedly an early VB system but the rear bags are linked, the front we have is semi air so the torsion bars are still set the same where the rear is a complete replacement with no leaf springs at all. Yes the front is an improvement in terms of ride.

How does it drive, what is the ride like? have you taken it for a run out yet?

Does it work correctly? do all the buttons work, have you looked underneath the van at the system?

funflair Thanks, I got a photo this morning, and it is the same factory-fitted controls, should be fine.

CazPaul So many questions! Not yet, I'm just trying to figure out what it has as the original ad was notably uninformative, about a dozen words I think.

I'm shopping for a replacement for the one that got away, got a higher budget this time if it has the right accessories.
