We are changing our motorhome from a Coachbuilt to an A Class.

We have a Paragon Silver Screen on our Coachbuilt which has been great

Who makes/provides decent inzutlsted screens for A Classes?

The passenger door opens but the drivers side does not and has a sliding window

Suggestions?

Depends on the heating in the new van if you really need one. Our van has heating vents between the screen & front blind our front blind is an insulated aluminium shutter so we don't bother with external blinds.

The manufacturers screen fit better as they fit into an aluminium channel you fit to each side of the van, we did buy them for our last van (hardly ever used them) the genuine Hymer blinds were cheaper than the after market ones.

Goood morning from sunny Devon.
Before you spend your money, I had a coach build and change to a Pilote A class and checked if my old screen would fit.

The flap on the drivers side will fit behind the sliding window and then close the window holding the cover in place, adjustments can be made for the rest of the screen to fit by a commercial sewing machine.

Our van is the same. Got ours for our A class from Polar Screens (Minster Products) in Sheffield. They do a 'while you wait' service if you make an appointment. Excellent company and product.

When we changed vans from a Pilote Aclass to a Frankia A class the screen wouldn't fit - Polar altered it to fit while we waited and only charged £10.

As lenny says, see if you need one first, we get no condensation at all in the cab area, we have insulated shutter internally but even not using it it stays clear, obviously must be getting some heat loss when open, but van is so warm.
Also when will you be using the van? If not a lot over winter, probably not worthwhile?

Thanks for the info. Do they do mail order? Am in Oxford and don’t fancy a long trip upto Sheffield

They also do a template kit. They send it out to you with instructions you do the template, send it back, they make it and send it out to you. (y)

Hi we have an A class Hymer & ordered off the shelf from Silverscreen - also had a privacy screen fitted for an extra cost which allows you to fold down the silverscreen and you still able to see out but people cannot see in - also gives UV protection. We ordered and was delivered pretty quickly. Company is based In Yorkshire & were really helpful when we phoned up to make the order.

Thanks all.

I think we will adopt a wait and see approach before committing.

We will rely on the internal screens for the movement and then if we feel we have too much heat loss/gain or condensation, the Next i will use the recommendations to source one.

Our A class needs one. We purchased fro silver screen with the privacy center section. Fits very well, but we are lucky as we have both driver and passenger doors.

I have a top screen and full bonnet cover, custom made by Minster Products. Cannot praise them enough.
