Hi all
just wondering what is best sealer for the joints between the fibreglass panels between cab and side panels. As not going anywhere for a while longer thought I would dig out old sealant and replace it. On picture it’s the horizontal joint at top of door level and vertical between the two fibreglass panels
thanks
Geoff

More than toes wet now!
I used Hodgsons Seamseal CV for exactly the same job during lockdown 1. It was a toss up between that or Carafax Caraseal for me.

I use RV61 made by Soudal. excellent sealant and easier to use than sikaflex/

If it’s not leaking then my personal view would be to leave it alone, it goes deeper than what you could dig out and it will be difficult to get it back in. Just clean the top of it.

Mine is showing signs of cracking so want to reseal, it’s not structural. On the Hodgsons seam seal I see on the website it only has an off white listed

It is a very pale creamish colour but to be honest I don't notice against the white panels. I'm over at storage today and if I remember will take a photo.

I've bought some Soudal RV61 to replace some of the cracked sealant, hoping to start on it tomorrow. Any good tips for removing the old sealant? (y)

When I did mine I used NO NONSENSE SEALANT REMOVER from screwfix. Put it on, left it for 15/20 mins and then used VITREX ALL-IN-ONE SEALANT REMOVER & PROFILER KIT 35MM (from screwfix) to remove sealant. Replaced with Sikaflex 522 and made to look nice with profiler kit.

(Note, test the remover on somewhere less critical to make sure it works and does damage paintwork/plastic)

I use Sealant scraper from good old Amazon ( it’s plastic and shaped for both flat and corner joints) plus the screw fix sealant remover.
I got this cheap set and it works well for me.
Better than licking your fingers and rubbing sealant off in your T shirt😂😂

Got a good bit done today by working on the shaded side of the van, will turn it around and finish it tomorrow.
Couldn't afford to wait a few days for Amazon so I used these wooden skewers. Worked a treat (y)
