Which service do you use when in Europe , just had a quote from Red Pennant which was over £230 for normal cover for a single trip of 7 weeks, seems a bit excessive to me, going to check out a few new insurance quotes to see what they charge to include it ,what do you all think.

Same for me although we pay extra for the travel insurance due to age and existing medical conditions.

Be careful if you travel with a dog. Red Pennant are one of the few that will organise and cover the cost of getting your dog home if you have to leave the motorhome behind. Is the quote from Red Pennant for breakdown cover and medical insurance?

We have ours combined with Comfort insurance for £65, cover is with DAS abroad and contracted out to AA in UK.

I know it works well too as i've used it a few times. :(

You'll always get cover at a better price if you combine it with your insurance. But do be aware of any limitations (such as dogs above).

I've always used Green Flag. Needed their help a few times and fantastic service.

Best is to book a year, then cancel when you get home. They refund you pro-rata. One of their staff gave me that tip :)

The only one that ticked all my boxes was Driver Guardian. >3500kg, Euro cover for up to 90 days, recovery to home address even if further away than nearest repairer. Most seemed to be < 3500kg, <7m or recovery to closest garage

If you have pets always make sure they are covered on repatriation as the recovery driver can decline the pets. Both red P & RAC Arrival good .
