Euro5 diesel

So I’ve been looking at motorhomes and pretty much all vans that fall in my budget are euro5 diesel engines.
I will be using this for travelling around France, Italy and Spain etc.
Someone has mentioned that soon euro5 vans will be banned from some areas, does anyone have more information regarding this please.

Just avoid areas where they have emission zones is the easiest way. Our van is so old it is Euro 3 but we've travelled throughout France without going anywhere near any cities where they have emission zones.

Euro 5 and below are the best no ad blue to faff with and fail prematurely. Also look for an engine with a cam chain.
They've ruined modern diesels, I used to buy diesel cars but not any more

I'm euro 5 and not aware of any outright bans. France Crit air 2. I will be watching to see if anyone has further information!

So been having a search online. It seems Italy are introducing a ban from 1 October in certain areas between certain times.

Euro 2 here, not had any issues thus far. Just needs a bit of forward planning and route selection (in the UK our biggest gripe is getting to the peaks via Sheffield).
