hi all, went to have a go at starting the van up today armed with a brand new jump pack and leads to jump from the car. Van has been stood without starting for a good few months and was proper dead. There are no rating numbers on the battery and it seems physically small for the base, so I'm guessing the sales people chucked anything in there to get it going. Both means of jumping gave me dash lights but it barely managed to turn over the one time then that was it, no chance if firing up.

When I look online for a battery for my van it's coming up with either 88 or 90Ah batteries with a physical size of

W-175
L-353
H-190 (to top of terminals)

Cheapies are £70 up to £130 for Bosch. (GSF/Halfords) before I get one do these sizes and Ah sound right?

we have the same engine , same year.. Our battery is 90Ah. I will check the battery for size and any ident numbers tommorrow if you require them..

Battery tray should be able to take a 100ah

Exact same dimensions 5yr warranty

Thank you, would be appreciated, hope to get it tomorrow afternoon or Tuesday.

I notices on the + pos terminal there is a plate with several connections and wires. These run down the end of the battery between it and the firewall. Hopefully this wil have no impact on the size I can fit.

Noticed Halfords do a Yuasa 100Ah 900CCA which is the same size as others quoted £119.99 with 5year cover

Not sure if going higher on Ah is a plus or negative thing. It does seem like out vans charge at 88-90Ah from what I see.

My 2004 Autocruise was the same

Yep looks like the same connections as mine.

If ordered tonight I'm pretty sure it will be delivered Tuesday by batterymega.
No one beats their prices

Ok, I will have a look. Is it ok to put 100Ah if the van started with 88-90ish?

Just checked, if I out my van details in it just shows the one battery. It's cheap, even with delivery. But not a make I have heard of. But it has 10/10 in the reviews on their site, although they mostly are for the delivery and service. I have yet to look through the batteries themselves, but this is their recommendation

That's a lower spec battery (same as cheapskate manufacturers fit initially), your choice I'm not going to press gang you into an upgrade you don't want. The price of the VARTA same as BOSCH is excellent.
Why fit an 85ah when a 100 will fit for a few quid more

Been looking at reviews on other sites which are a bit mixed for Alphaline batteries, some good some very bad.

I agree, just going to see what they have in Varta/Bosch compared to local GSF now

I posted a link to the Varta already £83.95 delivered. Halfords would be at least £50 more

Ok, battery megastore have this Varta for £78.95, seems biggest Ah at 95

Unbolt the negative and fasten it securely out of the way, unbolt the battery hold down plate then you can lift and slide it forwards for easier and safer access to the positive terminal bolt.
Make sure you have a radio code if yours has one

My policy has always been to fit the highest AH/CCA that will fit into the carrier-----Varta--excellent choice IMHO

Mine now has the 110 Varta from the same supplier

Ours has an aftermarket stereo fitted, good job as the motorhome dealer we bought from lost all the vans (Fiat part) books and docs. Service history the lot, plus if we needed a radio code it would be in there. I don't have the special key you need if the van forgets the normal keys (a red one?). I'm very unhappy with the service from them. Cheers for the tip on removing.

I'm thinking this mega battery and/or their couriers are not all that! Ordered battery as said earlier in thread. Said delivery should be Tues. Great as I have Tues and Wed afternoons to fit it, get van going, so I can then get exhaust changed for mot. I appreciate it could have gotten here Wed which would have been fine. But nothing! Contacted them, they say they will ask courier, I hear nothing, I ask again and get no reply. Maybe they are cheap for the reason you don't recieve it?

I have bought several and all arrived as promised.
Have you considered the weather

They and I are in the south, there has been no significant weather between ordering and now. I understand there can be hiccups with anything, but I'm getting no answers and after ordering in plenty of time to get exhaust done in time I'm approaching the time where I need to argue the refund and go and buy local.

Are you relying on email or phoning them?

Messaged through ebay to which they replied quickly yesterday, in their reply they said it was dispatched and they would chase the courier up. This was over 24hours ago. Nothing since. Messaged them again this afternoon with no reply.
