LYON BANS DIESELS BY 2026

The city of Lyon has already banned any vehicles that have a Crit’Air (fuel emissions) badge of category 4 or higher with commercial vehicles displaying category 3 being further restricted <Broken link removed>. The city is gradually increasing the area of its’ Low Emissions Zone & it has now announced that it intends to completely ban diesel vehicles on its roads from January, 2026 with only vehicles having a Crit’Air badge of 0 or 1 being allowed within the city limits. Details of the Crit’Air scheme are on the ‘Useful Info’ page of the ‘Travel’ section

Not a city I would ever want to go to again, had a car broken into there & just outside city, car door wrenched open tried to get wif's handbag but got the laptop instead.
Only problems we have ever had in France over 40 years.

Lets hope they have park and ride sorted out in which case good for them. When I went to Cambridge recently (pre covid) I used the guided bus park and ride. It seems like a really good idea why would you want lots of pollution ,noise traffic if you can limit it.

This will the first of many.
I'd expect most towns within the UK and EU to have banned all diesels by the 2030's

If that is the case out of town shopping will be booming and town centers ghost towns, a bit like some of them are now I suppose but worse.

Took the van right thorough the centre 2 years ago, there's some pretty tight places there. 😁
