I was looking at my cassette and the drops of Elsan are blue but I’m using the stuff in the green bottles. It’s very dark stuff so it’s hard to tell but is Elsan Green actually blue in colour?

Nope, it’s very dark green, but when it’s diluted with yellow fluid it can appear blue-ish. (Green+Yellow=Blue). Brilliant stuff BTW...as long as any trace of the blue chemical previously used in the cassette has been thoroughly removed. Zero nasty smell.

I use green liquid. Is it better, worse, or the same as the blue type in use ?
I know it’s supposed to be better for the environment.

I can only speak from personal experience, having used both. We used Blue (usually aquaKem) for years. It always resulted in retch-inducing stench within a day or so.

Since having been more enlightened as to the environmental downsides of the blue, we now use the green (Elsan organic) fluid. Completely different story. It’s been really effective from the outset. Brilliant stuff. Also means we can empty the cassette in places with septic tanks. Win-win.

Another vote for Elsan Green

I have a mild perfume aversion & Elsan Green has no smell (neither does my cassette 🙂)

It is definitely green so I expect it’s your eyes, I’m not being rude but it’s very dark green and as we get older it can become more difficult to differentiate shades so very dark greens and blues become harder to distinguish. It’s due to changes in the lens, they go a bit yellow, happens a bit even if you don’t have cataracts. More so in the over 70s. Nothing to worry about, unless you’re an artist of course.

I use a green fluid but it is the Blue Diamond make sold by Aldi periodically. I purchase enough for a year whenever it is in stock as one of their ‘specials’. I’m a tight so and so and it is a lot cheaper😂

I thought the title of the thread was promoting some sort of pop star I was blissfully unaware of!
"Elsan Green and the Cassettes" has a certain ring to it......
I thought he was an actor. :)
