Im a newbie
I'm planning to install an addition fridge fan (http://www.otoparts.nl/webshop/index.php?action=article&aid=109507&group_id=55&lang=nl).

The fridge is an Electrolux in a 51 Plate Compass Avantgarde.

Unlike on others' videos and instructions when I opened both grilles there is no visible +/- for me to tap into. But there are two sleeves;

one grey which has 12V written on it and
one red which has 240V written on it

So I'm guessing that if I carefully cut into the grey sleeve I will find individual +/- wires to use?

It's definitely a sort of sleeve, not a cable, it's a bit stiff/inflexible but I think I can feel wires inside.

Is anyone able to confirm/advise what I'll find before I start?

Grey sleeve.
You will need to check voltage when the fridge is on gas as it may just be the 12v heating element feed which will be of no use for a fan. .

It says 120W on the grey sleeve, so it must be the 12V heater element (the mains 240V wire says 125W).

There are two 12V supplies to a 3-way fridge. One is for the 12V heater, and usually comes from the starter battery/alternator. It is switched by a relay so it is only live when the engine is running.

The other is the permanent feed from the leisure battery to the control board, which switches on the igniter, flame failure device, gas supply solenoid etc.as required. This is the one to use for a supply to the fan. This supply runs to the control board usually at the top of the fridge, but it might run behind the fridge where you can tap into it, with any luck.
