I called EE yesterday to get my PAC codes for mine and my mothers phone with the intention of moving to 3
They asked what I’d seen
Unlimited data for £20 and half price for 6 months plus a sim for mother at £10

They straight away gave me 100gb for £20 and reduced my mother to £9 from £16
I was on 20gb for £22

So I’m staying put

Yep.. pays to call and threaten to leave every now and then.
It used to be that you could get the PAC code and if not used it 30 days things just stayed as they were.. Howver you had all the hassle of getting the sales pitch if you were determined to leave.
Things changed recently and all you know have to do it TXT the provider and you get the PAC by return.. :)

We just done the grandkids and got data up from 1gb to 4.5gb for same price (y)

Barb & me are on 3 for mobiles and also mifi, we have just been to Fairford RIAT for a week and
had no service on any device. 3 signal is very hit and miss at best of times. We use to be with EE
and had no problem so thinking of switching back.
DLT who was with us had a signal on Vodaphone network.

Anyone know if you text for the pac code if they still contact you to offer a better deal?

Yep. Did exactly the same a couple of months ago. Now use phone tethered a lot more for streaming in van.

Techno are there any speed restrictions with EE, and also what is the contract length

They are not supposed to call you to put pressure on to stay, recently they called my wife but not me when we left on the same day.

Remember EE increase the cost every spring by some form of inflation.
My wife is with TalkMobile and last year she got a text to say her data allowance was being increased by 50% ant no extra cost. As I only get cost increases from EE I called them to say my wife is getting a better deal than me.
The guy on the line immediately when into jolly mode "ho ho ho ,We can't have a chap on the worst deal than his wife can we?" He then offered me two deals and I took the £9 one (4Gb and unlimited calls and texts). In spring this year it went up to £9.46, next year I call them again.

Speed restrictions? does a 4G Sim have such a thing? not to my knowledge its as fast as the network permits wherever you are. Contract is 12 months

I've just called Virgin cable today too as my 12 months is up. I was already on a loyalty deal but their latest increase takes me to £40 for landline and 50meg broadband. Quoting the 3 Mifi sim deal they dropped the price to £28.50 for 6 months followed by £31 for 6 months

My daughter just did the same as me and was offered the same but went for 25GB for £16 She was paying £26 for 16GB

Thanks I'll keep EE in mind when I change the Mrs contract.
Reason I asked about speed restrictions is as some of the unlimited data sim deals offered by Vodafone atm are restricted.

I noticed one of the providers advertising their wares on TV are providing the PAC code when you sign the contract.... That's confidence.

You would have been disappointed with 3 anyway. I have 65 GB and stream music constantly watch vids and 65gb is more than I need. I had a duel sim handset with an EE and 3 sim. I hardly used the unlimited data sim with 3 as it was very poor

Yes I only told EE that was my intention to get the deal I did

I called EE a few months back and got 100gb for £20. Didnt need to threaten to leave just told them what I wanted. I do it every year when they try to increase their price on me.
