For those following the original thread this is the end result.

After the plug/socket/transformer melted, the unit went to APULJACK ENGINEERING at East Brent. http://www.apuljackengineering.co.uk/
I spoke with Paul, explained what had happened. He suggested a total overhaul and we discussed the potential of installing a new solar controller as well.
Paul has had a different type of solar controller and wonder whether it would fit into the existing unit once their redesigned transformer had been installed.
On the suggestion that I could be a guinea pig for this I opted to let them do whatever they wanted to it.
As you can see they managed to get everything inside the case.
I have reinstalled it back into the MH & Have put a thermometer above the unit just to see how warm the cupboard gets (not shown in my photo)
Everything works perfectly, is now kept cool and the fan no longer keeps kicking in & out (which the old unit did all the time)

I cannot recommend them highly enough. Paul, Chris & the Team have done a brilliant job resurrecting my EC325 saving me having to install an EC328 & new control panel (To be fair after speaking with the Tech team at Sargeants, they actually recommended I use Apuljack for sorting this issue out)
Not only that, they managed to get it back to me before they completely locked down the business and of that I am grateful.
(As we both work for the NHS It's our isolation zone should Jue or I get C19)

Thanks to Familymarmite Pete5996 Newfie for their input & help
Cheers

It looks a tidy job but don't you want to be able to see the solar controller lights to confirm it is happy?

Maybe a link to the previous thread will be handy. (y)

DOH! Good idea...sorry :ROFLMAO:

I did think that when i open the case up when it came back (I wanted to see how they'd got it all in)
I have emailed Paul back suggesting exactly that.
I will probably cut a hole in the case and sticks piece of clear perspex on to make it viewable it

A great company, of ‘proper’ engineers, who not only diagnose and repair these products but also upgrade them to overcome existing design weaknesses.

I cant recommended them enough and would like to see them included in the Review section of the forum.

I concur.....

The guy is good.

But not perfect, putting the solar inside that box looks a bad move to me. He's removed the cooling fan and added an extra heat source inside.
No he hasn't taken the fan out.
There is still a cooling fan on the top L side where the transformer has been replaced

Granted the solar control is larger but given that it's been plugged in on the drive to the EHU for the past 72 hours and left on it's not getting hot.
I have put a thermometer in the cupboard that houses it and it's sat at 19 degrees.
Given that the previous version of the 325 the fan constantly spooled up & down all the time tis is an improvement even with the extra bits in
