Just ebiked the wife's bike! I did mine last week and it worked so well the wife wants to keep up with me.....

13Ah battery under the pannier carrier and a 250w rear hub motor. Good for 30 miles or so.

The rear wheel kit was from Season on ebay. The battery from another supplier on ebay. All in all it took 3 hours to rebuild the bike. My Cube CLS took a little longer as it was the first I had done.

thanks for the info.
looking at a conversion for wifes bike..
my Cube Aim took quite a few hours as i had to change the bottom bracket and fit a rear disc brake. rear wheel kit from Woosh.

I have a good Rose bike that I imported. I’d love to have it properly converted by someone who knows what they’re doing, preferably in Scotland. I’ve googled a couple of companies but any recommendations?

The Cytronex kit I linked to above is very easy to fit yourself, there are some measurements you have to provide and a template to check front wheel clearance before you order.

If you have a good quality bike already I think it's a no brainer, you get a high end electric bike for half the investment - as you've already made the other half!

How much! (I must be from Yorkshire ) The kit I fitted from the Bay of E cost less than £400.

my woosh "rear wheel" kit was £499. i particularly wanted a rear wheel kit but

front wheel kits are quite simple to fit and instructions are very thorough.

We have just spent time with husband and wife friends who had converted bikes with Dillenger kits which were less than £500 and involved a new front wheel and hub, battery and controls and they worked very well. The claimed mileage was more than quoted above. I imagine it depends on the amp hour ratings and voltages of the batteries which were mounted on the frames through the accessory screw holes on the down diagonal then covered by the batteries which could then be locked on. I am currently contemplating doing our bikes with these kits.

i looked at the dillenger kits and they seemed good value, but they did not do a 27.5" rear wheel kit which i wanted..

The Dillinger kits are half the price but twice the weight of the Cytronex, you get what you pay for.

For those interested my bike started at 15kg. With the kit on it was 19kg with battery 22kg. So 7kg added. Obviously the bigger the battery the more weight. Mine is a 15ah.

I bought a wrecked E-bike called an Ezee Forza. It had been left outside under a cover with a dead battery. I salvaged the motor front wheel & controller. It's now installed in a Giant alloy frame with a 7 speed hub gear (originally derailleur gears). I'd built the Giant previously from a frame & the motor & bits cost me £50. The battery cost more than the rest.

I've just seen this thread, it's fascinating I had no idea you could get kits to convert bikes!
