I want to change some of my exterior vehicle bulbs for leds, specifically the daylight running bulbs on my Hymer. Having successfully changed the vast majority of our domestic 240v lamps with ebay offerings and saved a fortune, I wanted to do the same for the van. Has anyone recommend any ebay suppliers of led auto bulbs? Even if there were a 50% failure rate they would still be substantially cheaper than Halfords etc.

Not eBay, I use aten lighting. Not cheap, have an extended voltage range, are not normally polarity sensitive, quality kit. Never had a failure yet. Don’t know though if they stock what you need, but super customer service and next day delivery of stock items of which there are many.

Unfortunately they don't do autobulbs

Just make sure they are E marked, not only non E marked bulbs illegal but the light pattern is often very poor. If you Hymer is on a Fiat you don't need a CANBUS balast resistor as the DRL's are not connected to the bulb failure circuit.

This bloke is very helpful and his stuff is CE Approved. I got our DRL's from him to replace the very hot 21w ordinary bulbs.

That's a shame, I've changed all my interiors to led's from Aten lighting (ask for Saul, brilliant lad) the gear is 8volt to 30volt which I'm impressed because I've used some 12v stuff that burns out at our 13+ volt systems.

These are what we have for our DRL's, previously tried a 5w 8 diode version but they were a bit dim at around 200 lumens.

The standard bulbs are about 450 lumens and these are 600.
I don't know the watts but probably around 10-12.
