A story in the Guardian today about a chap who has been unable to renew the tax on his campervan for no apparent reason.

The newspaper alludes to the fact they have many readers unhappy about current levels of service (or rather lack of it) at the DVLA.

Although the guy eventually got it taxed, there was no explanation as to the reason for refusal, and it only happened after the newspaper intervened and got on to the press office at the DVLA.

I think there are a few people on here experiencing difficulties of one sort or another with the organisation... :(

After you have at least tried to go through the DVLA compaints procedure the route to take is (via your MP who may need to be told this service exists)

I am aware that the staff at the DVLA are stressed, underfunded and taking industrial action because of the unacceptable workload but the only way to make anything happen appears to be via this route. If there are enough complaints and investigations then hopefully real action will happen.

Tax is due on ours at the end of the month while we’re away hope it goes through ok

He tried. It is in the 2nd paragraph of the article linked.
