I did say in earlier post that medical issues throw up delays,the lucky healthy ones usually get licence back in days!

But who checks those? You could tell the guy anything as long as it wasn't apparent on the day of the "examination"!
Has anyone ever known of checks being made with your GP after issue of licence? Nobody will know until there's an incident.............!

I applied for mine with D4 drivers medical on the 14th July and came back on the 26th July I was impressed

It is possible that delays are caused not by the DVLA but them waiting for confirmation from your own medical people.
