Hymer B564 A class
Exp
Since September 2018
We recently changed our campervan for a return to motorhoming.
Sold the camper and bought the new to us Hymer A class.
All paperwork duly sent off for the sale of the camper for the new owner, who duly taxed the vehicle whilst at our home upon collecting it.
When we collected our new to us van we also taxed the vehicle at the sellers address, and all paperwork was duly completed.
We were happy campers.

1 week later ( yes.... 1 week exactly! ) my new v5c arrives with my name spelt incorrectly and other details missing on the v5c.
So, sent off a polite recorded letter explaining my correct name spelling ( despite filling it in myself at the sellers adress at the time of purchase, and correctly), and asking for them to correct my name and also please to add the missing details, such as seating capacity, which should show 6, but was blank, plus some missing towing weights etc.

Today, the new v5c arrives (along with other mail,) with my name correctly spelt, so happy days.
But no....... nothing else has been amended, and the number of seats is still blank.
And then, in a second envelope is a vehicle tax reminder for the campervan we sold in Mid May.
And then, to cap it all off; in a THIRD envelope is a refund cheque for the remaining balance of tax on the now sold camper!!!
You could not make this stuff up!

Amazes me on most of the recently posted Uk V5's how much information is not on it? Never seen any towing weights either.
Yes.
Ours basically says its a Fiat Ducato 2.8 with a GVW of 3500kg, has a chassis number and is white, running on heavy oil.
Very vauge.

I suspect they will only show details on theV5C that have been officially certified, usually from the Certificate of Conformity. Wrong details might be a problem but blank or missing ones is not unusual. Are the missing bits going to cause you a problem?

DVLA are a waste of tax payers money and fresh air.
Not for me this last week they weren't.
1. Changed reg plate to cherished plate. Online and instantaneous. No fee.
2. New V5C arrived two working days later.
3. MOT certificate details also updated at the same time.
Took me longer to get the new plates made up locally!
Result.
Plus Comfort Insurance don't charge for reg plate change. Phoned to advise of the change and new docs issued online after 5 minutes.
Oh and the French Crit Air took five minutes to re-register once I had the new V5C.

Only bit I was worried about was the number of seats.
We have 5 fully fitted 3 point inertia seat belts ; 4 of which are forward facing - driver and front passenger plus 2 in the rear for rear forward facing passengers. Then we have a rearward facing passenger 3 point inertia belt, and next to that we have a rearward facing lap belt.
All fully factory fitted and to the chassis .
Would have thought they would have been logged, but hey-ho.
As long as we are using the belts, as fitted, then we should be ok, if stopped by Plod for whatever reason.
Just wanted that official notation on the v5c though.

And lo....... it came to pass that the chaps and chapesses of said vehicular establishment did readeth said manuscrpt of my scribe.
And with fortitude and exertion that they did verily supply a third , not fourth or fifth, or indeed second, but third v5c official vehicular document of motor details and thus with the correct annulments as per my request.
Praise be to the Lord, Father Christmas and Sooty and Sweep for such an historic act.
