In April we'll be getting the Hull to Rotterdam ferry to do a tour of the Rhine Valley. We've never 'done' the Dutch bulbfields and my wife would really like to stop there for a couple of nights.

Funsters - is it worth stopping for, can you recommend an ACSI site nearby, is a couple of days enough?

Knowledgeable responses will be welcomed.

Thanks.

It’s certainly worth stopping for(y)

Keukenhof gardens is where you need to be, have a look at their website.

we have been twice, first by car 15 years ago, second by MH 4 years ago, there seemed to be far less fields second time round, in fact we struggled to find them

there are tourist maps with symbols on the field locations, still worth doing once, even the Keukenhof bit, but we went and it was stupidly busy, dozens of coaches and far too many people for us

we stopped on the town centre aire at Gouda, excellent location, but also very busy, possibly due to Orange day a national holiday I think

We went in 2017. Yes the fields are free and are just lengths of different colours. I would not go out of my way to just see the fields.
Going into Keukenhof gardens is a different story. Yes its busy but the place is enormous and you can loose yourselves.
If you decide to go, come back to me I have a couple of local Dutch airs that we used with outstanding facilities. Both are a pleasant bike ride to the gardens.
If you do indeed go you can take the MH and park in the substantial parking area but there is a charge for this. Bike parking is free.

We are also off to Holland at the beginning of April so will watch this thread with anticipation

We also hope to look at the bulb fields in April. There is the flower parade mid April, floats are spectacular. We enjoy the fields as much as Keukenhof. The scent from the hyacinth fields is amazing. With recent warm weather check on progress of bulbs for best timing of visit
