Hi everyone. We bought our first motorhome a couple of months ago and for one reason or another we have been unable to make our first trip. However its sitting on the drive and we are raring to go. Or we were until I received a safety recall notification - possible problem with brake pipe. Contacted the local Arnold Clark Fiat dealership and was told couldn't be seen until February! Not amused considering the potential of a failure. After phoning around half a dozen places finally booked in for January. Anyone else had the same recall and problems getting it seen to? No pre New Year trip for us.

You might have tried them but .....
Motus Commercial in Bellshill?

Thanks for the info. Tried all the Fiat dealerships as per Fiat UK information. This one not mentioned but did manage to get booked in to Ian Grieve in Camelon, Falkirk. Bit more of a trek but beginning of January. Mainly interested to see if any other Ducato owners had similar issues.

Got my letter yesterday, but on one of the other threads on this subject the original fault was listed in January of this year.
Maybe worth checking if the recall on steering knuckles applies to yours as well.

Good point. I'll phone Fiat UK tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes got mine this week. Although the recall has been around since early 2020 Don't know why it's taken this long. Maybe affecting more vehicles than they thought. There was a post about it before with pics showing you where the defect might be. I think it's just an attachment clip on the drivers side bulkhead. I booked mine into Motus in Govan. they wouldn't give me a time as they said someone would look at it between jobs. It only takes 5 mins. If it needed any work it would get booked in again. There's also a Parks Fiat Professional in East Kilbride than can take motorhomes.

I don't think there's any urgency. My vans a 2019 and I've only just got the recall letter.
It seems they have found very few with a problem

If you do a google search, I think you'll find sufficient information to be able to do your own visual check and be satisfied enough in the short term at least, to take your first trip

Many thanks. Never even thought to Google it!

Is Motus a Fiat dealership? Wasn't on the list provided from Fiat UK which is a bit of a bummer. As far as East Kilbride is concerned they weren't interested until February - too busy. If its a 5 minute look see job to start with I would have hoped they would accommodate me - especially as it concerns a brake pipe. However as posted above I'm booked in for January. I'll keep a note of Motus in case I require any further work. Many thanks.

Yes Motus in Govan is Fiat Professional, I found them on Fiat Website.

Cheers. Pity Fiat UK couldn't tell me that when I phoned them. I'll know where to go next time.

I got the brake pipe recall for my Peugeot Boxer based moho, today (Sat 26 Mar 21). Either Fiat didn't tell Peugeot about this problem or the post to Uranus is slow. Rang the nearest dealership (Taunton): "Sorry, sir, our computer's down at the moment ..." or, in other words, "Sorry, sir, our duty mechanic got pissed last night and is pulling a sicky."
So it'll have to wait as we're off on our travels for a week tomorrow (haven't told Mrs Despicable the nature of the recall, though :lipssealed:)

If you can see the brake pipes clipped to the bulkhead I think you’ll be fine. The Fiat mechanic that did mine had a look, gave them a prod and pull and said they were fine. I watched him do it, took about 30 seconds. He said he’d done hundreds but hadn’t found any problems. Obviously you’ll need to get it done officially to get the database updated.
