Hi ,has anyone upgraded their ducato radio to a double din dab/sat nav/Bluetooth unit, just wondering what models/makes people have used and whether they fitted themselves, plenty of vids on youtube but no reccomendations or reviews of good and bad models, any advice greatly appreciated cheers jon

Yes!
replaced my pioneer unit with an Avic z830DAB that has Motorhome dedicated satnav, carplay dab etc. Expensive.
All the plugs around the back were essentially the same but took a bit of fettling to get the frame to fit. Hot tip is that the module on the dashboard above radio comes out with 4 screws and gives you much better access.

I fitted a Sony XAV-AX3005DB to my Ducato based PVC. Paid £350. Had to spend 10 minutes with a hacksaw blade in order to make the aperture double din. After that the wiring loom was simply plug and play. A £15 facia trim finished it off so it looks practically factory fitted.

Sound quality good (after going through the various menu settings), and built-in Android Auto for easy integration with your phone for satnav, BBC Sounds, and Spotify is definitely the future. Boots up quickly. Screen is not easy to read in direct sunlight, but all the alternatives at a similar price point were pretty poor in this respect too. Otherwise all good. I'd buy it again.

Swapped ours out for a Chinese Android headunit about 4 years ago. Loaded it up with all the apps we need including Co Pilot and Sygic Motorhome edition for satnav.
No use giving you details on the unit as newer versions come along every few months. It was a direct swap and all works with the steering wheel controls.

We got a really poor £25 quid head unit stuck in the van by the dealer. Pretty useless to be honest, but didn’t matter as we always intended to fit this Alpine unit in anyway. Didn’t fit it ourselves as it’s a bit of a beast to fit.

The main criteria for me was a physical volume button as I’ve only got the basic steering wheel with no media controls on it and having had non-button head unit’s in the past the physical button is so much easier to deal with while moving.

Just what I’m looking for. Can I ask what/if any Moho specific navigation you have/factory installed ?

Thanks

Not that i’ve heard of it before, but it has the iGo Primo NextGen navigation system with TomTom maps pre installed. It allows you to select between s/m/l motorhome sizes and the will route you according to your size. European map coverage and three years free updates included.

I believe you can also get the park4night data installed if you want to.
