Hi Folks......yep, in trouble again. The Thatcham system, having been armed/locked with the remote thingy, sounds off the vehicle alarm either minutes or maybe hour or so after locking. I’m just about to look through all the destructions I got when the van was new but have any of you had this before to save me the search ? The battery in the key fob is the original from when we took delivery and we have never had a problem before. Can’t just be that can affecting the whole vehicle can it ? I have locked her up with the spare non-remote keys. Any answers welcome.

Hi Robert, can’t tell you until tomorrow as I had to go out unexpectedly to my daughter and her new baby. I thought I had the details in my encyclopaedic new-buy pack. Too dark and miserable to mess about tonight. Thanks for your patience.

If you have the ability to turn off the internal movement sensor, I would try that as the first option.

I had a weird one that somebody asked for advice on. The alarm would set with no tell tales pips orflashes of the LED. then a random time later would sound the alarm with again no tell tale. Narrowed it down from bad switches on doors/bonnet etc and nothing moving inside. Turned out to be moisture from condensation in the ultrasonic movement detectors. Only discovered after disconnecting the sensors, and not just disabling them
Another one would go off daily about the same time every morning and was a neighbour going off to work with a noisy motorbike

Hi again all.....the sticker on the window says “Avit”. I seem to remember it was installed at the dealers so will contact the leckie man they used if I get no joy. Will try the the internal sensor shortly as suggested by Landy.
Looking at the handbook, maybe it could be the fob battery as the fob and van talk to each other every time you use the system, generating new codes for ignition and so on.
