It's a doddle , yes there are a few roundabouts and traffic lights, but they are no problem , we went through there Sunday with no problems

We dont normally go into the centre of rouen. the a28 leads you through a tunnel ( over 4 metres) down to a fairly complicated section by the seine, best route is to go over the seine and then turn sharp right going underneath yourself to go alongside the river, but as long as you follow one of the signs for evreux you wont go far wrong.

we like to go via N154 evreux and dreux and get on at a71 at orleans, saves going through paris and quite a bit less in tolls. ( you will go along a13 towards paris for a few miles before you get onto n154)

weather been great in benicassim, 20+ in sun 15-17 in shade. looking a bit overcast today

    Jon

Follow the SatNav - it's really no more bother than any other city.

The problems some referred to a while ago were largely related to avoiding low tunnels in a part of the city that your SatNav should keep you well clear of if coming down from the Calais/Boulogne/Dieppe direction. Ours always takes us down the E46 on the east side of Rouen which isn't very built up.

As #3 & 5 say its a doddle. Well signed. The problems you may have heard about occurred when the Pont Mathilde was damaged a few years back. Its been reinstated and the traffic flows pretty well at all times. Enjoy. If you follow the route in #4 along the N154 to the A71 there is a handy aire just before you reach the Autoroute north of Orleans. Very very basic, in a farmers field. Water, greyand black dump and an honesty box requesting €2. Two very small children come to brief you on the 'vidange'........ take chocolate(y)

We did it yesterday in a 7.6m long, 3m high MH - no problems, traffic was busy, but we were going through late afternoon. Just follow your sat nav.

    Enjoy !

Follow the route given by Jonegood and near Dreux there is a LeClerc fuel stop which is the cheapest for miles. But it is not an attended one so you can only use cards. I have a French card but have used a UK debit card so you should not have any problem.
According to this link diesel is €0.949 per litre.
See here: http://prix-carburants.economie.gouv.fr/recherche/ If you put Dreux it shows 3 fuel stations the bottom one is the one mentioned above.

we always turn off the main road at bottom of hill, first exit after tunnel, follow airport sign, takes you down the side of the Siene via Pont de L'Arche, there is a free aire there and a municipal site (summer only)

Then Evreaux / Dreux as above for us too

Also avoids a few more pennies in tolls, we don't pay anything for tolls unless we really have to, or sat nag takes us wrong way

Here's a map showing the route some have mentioned. We never go through Rouen this is much nicer route, and it's easy.
    Not through Rouen

I usually go via Yvetot just up past Rouen, and then stop at an aire for our first or last night at either St Nicolas de Bliquetuit or La Mailleraye sur Seine both on the banks of the Seine
