We've just acquired a N+B Flair Life which has the Merc 4G-Tronic Auto Gearbox. If I understand correctly the driving mode is selected by moving the gear lever to the corresponding position, with options of "4", "3" and "2". With respect to these are my assumptions correct insofar as...
In the “4” mode all 4 gears are used and this mode is recommended for normal driving conditions.
With the lever in the “3” position, the gear range is limited to the first three speeds, which is used for long, gradual ascents and descents.
The “2” mode includes only the 1st and 2nd speeds, which is used on steep hills.
Have I got this right, and are there other circumstances when options "3" and "2" might be used?
Thank you.
