Could anyone help me answer this one? I have a photocard licence and passport, and need to retain C1/D1 at age 70. Now I have read the application form and understand medical/eyesight, need to send driving licence etc. The question I cant get my head around is PHOTO. The instructions on the form and on the "how too" guide appear to contradict each other. One says you must send a new photo, the other says you do not. What is the answer?

You only need to send a photo if applying less than 56 days before your licence expires. So make sure you apply well in advance.
Also if you do send a photo there is no charge if you are 70 although the form indicates otherwise.

Crazy isn't it, you are sent forms with explanation notes on how to complete and they totally contradict each other !!

I am going to send a photo with mine simply because the feedback we are getting is they are working three months behind and by the time it gets to the top of the list it will likely be under 56 days to date of renewal therefore needing a photo?🤔so hopefully avoiding delays😊

I am going to do the same, at this rate my licence will have already gone out of date. Just cancelled my medical with my GP who wanted £100 and instead booked with my local D4Drivers for £55

That’s where I am going for my med when required😊
