Hi

I am looking at purchasing a drive away awning and fancy something like this Cayman, which seems to be available in a 'pole' version or an 'air' version, with the latter being £180 more expensive.
I was wondering whether the air version is worth going for, for example is it a lot easier to put up, and why is better in use, and what people's experience of the Cayman is generally , or if you would recommend something different.

Many thanks

No, buy a Quest Screenhouse 4 pro.
Soooo simple and completely flexible in its pitching and re-aligning capability.
Only my thoughts though.
Enjoy whatever you spend your hard earned spondoolies on 😊

Is there much of a weight difference between the ‘air’ and the ‘poled’ version……?

We have a fibreglass poled awning we take if we are on site for more than about three days. Ideal as it has a tunnel connecting it so the doorway is dry. Quest make one for some models of their shelters.

We had an air awning. Didn’t like it. When our poled one gives up the quest we would buy another - if we can find one suitable as air is now the in-thing.

We've used both (but outdoor revolution) poles tend to be lightweight but longer to assemble disassemble. Pole systems are easier to store / carry. Air : useful to have 2 to move about but quick easy to put up. Both easy to add to van with c rail, we use a 3 step ladder to thread through and a fiamma winding handle to pull through.

When we bought ours Air awning at a show he delivered it on a sack barrow !! all in a nice zipped up bag, I then went to put it in the M/home garage , and I advise you it was heavy , try lifting it before you buy , we sold ours at a big loss it was a Outdoor Revolution Driveaway Awning , don't forget if a tube punctures while you are away it's useless and the tubes do go faulty , If I bought one again I would go for a Pole type although they take longer to put up , 3 reasons , 1. beware of punctures 2. Heavy pole type come in two bags one the awning and second bag for poles makes it easier to handle . 3. in high winds they change shape dramatically . Just my experience
