Hello all
Just found our shower handle is dripping out water all the time, can anyone advise what’s the best way of repairing this or does anyone know some one who could help without it costing an arm and a leg. It is a IH 630RL. Thank you

As a temporary fix to stop losing all your water, can you wrap dental floss round and round and round ad infinitum... behind where the handle meets the fittung?

Someone once fixed my kichen tap like that...

Give IH a ring. They are supposed to be very helpful

I had exactly the same with my IH 600RD when I didn't drain down the shower and the beast from the east struck . The van was only a few months old and IH replaced it for me without any quibbling . It didn't take them long so I suggest you contact IH , they will probably explain how to do it yourself or do it for you if you prefer .

We had a similar problem on our previous IH and Carole who used to be with them in aftersales did tell us the partnumber and told us how to do it but I got as far as buying the new bit and partially dismantling the old one but it was slightly different so I dried everything off and reassembled it. The leak stopped and it stayed stopped. We then bought a new IH! The new chap John is really helpful.

As others have said probably frost damage, talking from experience as Its happened to me a few years back. If you take it apart it will more likely be the cartridge rather than the actual tap, cartridge cost about £20.

You can get to the back of the shower from the fridge vents.
We had to replace the pipes and fittings as far as we could reach through the vents. Once the John Guest fittings are taken apart, best to replace with new. Sometimes our shower tap drips but not always. I have found it helps if the water from the tap to the shower head is emptied, i.e. turn off the tap then use the shower trigger down the loo!
Good luck.

In mine I just had to “nip up“ the cartridge inside. Cured it.

A couple of quotes from IH owners club which may help- access from top fridge vent.

I had the same and despite all efforts to reseal ( I have such things in my workshop) I could not get the mixer to stay leak free. After a bit more investigation I found that by pushing the cartridge against the mixer stopped the leak. Maybe some internal distortion - I have no idea. Anyway I reinserted the cartridge and then inserted a 1mm seal ring before the bayonet cap. It is now leak free and has been for about eight months. PS I did obtain a new cartridge which also leaked but I have now fitted the old one back.

PS I purchesed my shower mixer cartridge from Marcle leisure

1 x 35mm Comet Cartridge - MLN0026546

And another

I had a leak from the front of the shower mixer under the single lever control on my 2009 Tio, dripping down on to the toilet bench. I removed the lever centre cap and the screw below to reveal the cartridge. The curved crome bezel unscrews and there is also a tiny cross headed screw between the blue cartridge and white locking ring which needs removing. You can then turn the white locking ring an eighth turn and it pops out together with the cartridge and it was then obvious that 3 of the 4 lugs on the locking ring were fractured and not locking the cartridge tightly in place and therefore leaking. I could source the cartridge anywher but not the locking ring but eventually found Comet in Germany to be very helpful and they supplied a Cartridge and locking ring by courier for £18.50. kontact@comet-pumpen.deand the part numbers were Cartridge S9207.01.00, Locking Ring C3.5301.00

Thanks everyone, will look into all possibilities. Just away now and put shower loo, though pressure is up it seems to have more or less stopped
