Can anybody give me some advice please my fridge won’t get cold on lpg, I have cleaned the flu out which wasn’t that dirty anyway , put a new thermistor and a new board and it still isn’t getting cold , Pam

I take it ins working ok on mains.
Probably worth changing the jet and burner or could be the gas valve not much else to change.

Hi Robert, the gas jets fine it has a blue flame and I have cleaned it , the coil is heating up as well , hot to touch :(

Hi Lenny yes it’s working on mains electric the jets fine , we are really stumped ?

We have had it set on full but after reading these post have now turned it down to 3 , see how that is tomorrow morning:)

As @Lennie HB suggested the the gas jet assembly is the likely culprit. The fridge operates in the same way for all three supplies: mains, 12v, and gas. It simply needs the correct amount of heat so if it isn't working on lpg but is OK on the others it isn't getting the correct amount of heat from lpg. The flame can look nice and blue but still not be giving enough heat leaving only the burner assembly or a (unlikely) gas restriction in the pipework.

Has the gas regulator got contaminated as that causes low pressure and less flames I think?

Mine had a nice blue flame on it, but you couldn't hear the "roar" at the vent. Blowing the jet out sorted it.

There is sometimes a small restrictor just before the burner as well.. We had one in both the old Hobby and our 18 month old Miller
When you say you cleaned the burner and the jet, did you run a 'tip cleaner'* cleaner through the jet

*commonly used for cleaning gas welding tips

Ours is the same and the workshop have ordered a new thermistor.

Well, as I suspected it wasn’t the thermister. Currently awaiting what they are going to do as they are now telling me it’s because I had the gas heating on at the same time and it can’t do both.....

I quite agree!

I stopped short of saying that outright but made it clear they were talking piffle.

Just to update the thread, they changed the burner assembly and the cooling unit and it seems to be working.

The burner assembly is £70 and the cooling unit at least 10x more so if it ever happens to yours, I would recommend the burner first......
