I may have stumbled upon this by chance which may help others.
We were in the new forest a couple of weeks ago and the fridge 7805L was having difficulty lighting at times.
Thought it was probably the usual problem of a bit of muck on the burner.
So off with the bottom fridge vent and a blow out with a bike pump seemed to help a bit. There was some black bits and dust in there. We seem to be lucky and not get spiders in there.
Finally got round this weekend to give it a clean.
Pulled a bit of rag through the chimney several times to clean the chimney. A lot cleaner than I expected.
What does the spiral bit of metal actually do in the top?
Then I used a piece of fine glass paper to clean the rust from the bottom of the chimney where the burner pushes into.
Lost the screw in the process but found another nice clean one.
Once reassembled and a good vacuum later, I turned it on and it lit straight away which it has never done.
I didn’t even hear it do the tik tik tik tik thing.
I hadn’t even run the gas through to the cooker first.
I had a hunch that it could be an earthing problem, so on checking the wiring diagram it could have been.
Turned it off and on again and it lit just as quick.
So hope I’ve sorted it for a while.
