Hi last trip away, after going to bed, the fridge would beep tor four to five times till the gas eventually ignited and carried on working. But I assume at the next ignition the same thing happened again and the red warning light didn’t go away and I pressed a button to clear the fault.
On arrival back home, plugged into the electric and wasn’t back in the van till next day, to discover the fridge had not switched to mains and was trying to ignite on gas.
My repair shop said I need a new control panel, but if there is a problem with the gas ignition, I would have thought the control panel wasn’t the complete answer. Your thoughts as always appreciated.

Is it clicking while it tries to ignite?

Yes it does click but it’s the beeping when it doesn’t ignite immediately that is causing the problem and also the fridge not switching back to electric when back at base.

Mine started to go crankey last year. What ever I am on 12V, gas or engine running I have to shut the fridge down before switching to any of the others. So for example if I shut the engine off the alarm sounds and no matter what I do I can't stop the alarm or shut it down, I have to start the engine then turn the fridge off, it's the same with the Gas and if on EHU. I think it is the panel but at circa £200 I would like to be sure.

Hi try taking CP off and give it a good drying with a hair dryer. If it then works spray with a circuit board sealer 😉

How old is the fridge?
Only asking as Dometic have a known problem with certain burners but they don’t seem particularly keen to tell anyone including their own dealers , they have now apparently also made the warranty claim process so complicated that it’s not worth the dealer bothering ⚠️

Have you tried cleaning burner and flue?

I have intermittent issues with my Dometic fridge when on gas. Van is 20 months old so assume fridge is 2-3 years old. Are these suspect burners likely to be fitted to my fridge.?

No is that an awkward job, and what do you have to do.
Burner:
Take off fridge vents, remove galv square from rhd corner. 11mm spanner on pipe nut theres a small metal cap inside, give it a clean with some fuse wire, careful not to trap cables when you remount.

Flue, should be behind top fridge vent, you need to get tee piece off top, then you will find peice of wire hooked in remaining piece pull out baffle and thoroughly clean, remount.

Take a picture of your data plate in the appliance and I will get it checked for you 👍
