Have been told that it is possible to leave dog in van during travel, with unlimited visits. Can't see any confirmation on website, any knowledge of same on here?
(Would prefer dog friendly cabin, but limited availability and second choice would be dog in van as opposed to kennel).

We were also considering this too, on the ferry earlier this year we saw a lady with her border collie walking it in the parking deck area, we do like the Newcastle-Ijmuiden ferry as its so close to home.
Wish it was a bit cheaper though.

We'll probably use this service next year Paul - is it quite good value and do you have any top tips of when to book etc

Yes, it's the closeness to home for us too. We would gladly pay (reasonably) over the odds to avoid the long trek to/from Dover. Unless we're headed for Spain in winter, in which case the tunnel or a ferry to Santander does make more sense.

Cheapest to book as soon as they become available
2019 booking opened October
Last year there were some offers from time to time but they still worked out more than booking early
Some of the cash back sites had some deals
Also sometimes cheaper for some through camping clubs
We found cheapest to book direct most years so far

Very useful (y) I might give them a call and check the price guides.

Sometimes you can get a discount by phoning and speaking direct, also try doing it through the CMC.

That'll be good if the CMC support a deal or two. Cheers Paul(y)

You are only allowed to visit the dog on the hour every hour until 11pm I think it was. It was a good trip. Just go to reception each hour and say you want to visit your dog. Mine wasn't keen on walking the metal steps to dog walking area.

We last use this crossing a couple of years ago and they allowed us to use Tesco vouchers, the website says cars only but when we called they allowed it so not sure if it's a done thing or we got lucky.

We crossed in the sept for £295 return booked well in advance.

Where did the dogs sleep, was it nice and comfortable for them, what were the beds like?

It was a caged dog room with individual cages. Mine was the only one in it. You need to put your own bedding inside. Drinking bowl and a tap are in the
room.

I think it cost £7 . Dogs are not allowed to stay in the van.
