Hi all wondering if anyone has experience of the kennels onboard the Dublin to Cherbourg ferry? What is the setup? Our dog will be very upset and we're wondering how others get on 🤔

Maybe it will tell you when you get there....... if there is a real concern...... don't go !!!

Which ferry operator and which ship may get you an answer?

Not that route but we did use kennels on the Stena Hollandica in January Our dog was about 6months old at the time but he is very laid back. I was worried about putting him in them but they didn’t have pet friendly cabins at the time. He was fine, they had cameras you could look on. In the time it took for us to get to our cabin he had eaten his dinner and was laid down asleep 😂 every time I looked on camera during the crossing he was also asleep. I would say it depends on your dog and how they react to being left etc.

I get it - I don't like dogs either and wouldn't entertain one in my house or MH - I have had experience and will never repeat, and I point out to some owners when they are failing to keep their dog out of my way - but it is taking it too far to post what you did there...

Why can't we like what we like? I like cats but they can be a pest too and can't be trained like dogs. I hate hamsters BTW!

Working dogs do provide some people with an essential service and on the flip side, some people treat their pets like they're kids. I too find that rather unusual and something I wouldn't do, but I've seen people do it with every kind of animal - it takes all sorts.

I think I would never say - above all on a forum where there are many different shades of opinion and where we're supposed to be coming together - that a particular companion animal is wrong.
