We were under the impression that there were no dog friendly beaches in the Algarve. And this has put us off coming here in the past, however we are now working our way west to east along the coast and have discovered that most beaches will allow dogs provided that they go to either end. This definitely applies to beaches with a life guard on duty. In addition we have found two unguarded beaches between Lagos and Sagres with lots of dogs running freely they are Praia Boco do Rio and Praia das Furnas both are beautiful, particularly the later. I will add to this list as we head east toward Spain.
