Does anyone use their shower area as a wardrobe?

Hi
Looking for suggestions for a wardrobe rail that we could fit in the seperate shower, in a camper that we are currently looking at.
Maybe someone has an unusual set up that I haven't thought of.
Thanks

We have a drop down bed which we use for ball gowns, keeps them nicely pressed /thought it would be useful for grandchildren but only used very occasionally. Would not want to share our motorhome with any friends, actually we haven’t any.

Ball gowns? What sorts of sites do you visit?? 😂

Get a shower once a year in the van. Usually st Drax for some reason.

It takes the rest of the year to move the crap the boss stores in the shower tray out to have the shower, then replace 😳😳😂😂

We have a moveable 'bar,' in our shower. We use it for hanging towels in to dry, or washing, sometimes my wife hangs a long dress on it.

It pushes up out of the way when you want to use the shower.

Most Adrias have a rail fixed to the shower roof.
No proper wardrobe is a deal breaker for us as well.
Use our shower almost every day regardless of where we are.

I’m beginning to think this thread has the key to the great campervan/motorhome debate, and it comes down to whether or not you perform the daily “s’s” (apart from one 😉) in your vehicle.
If you don’t, it’s a campervan regardless of configuration, because, essentially, you’re a camper…..😆

You will not believe this but we use our shower “area” as a ———— wait for it ————- shower. Used every day , sometimes twice per person. We carry 235 litres of water plus 20 litres in containers.
Is that not what it is for?

Well that's what I thought too. Both my wife and I use the shower every day..... for showering 😀

I didn’t put ‘funny’ for ball gowns.
Do you have to re-inflate the grandkids after being pressed in the drop down bed?

We have completely converted ours as we are both 6Ft and can barely get in the shower! There is a shelf halfway up that takes the Trug and Water Barrel when en-route. Underneath is a Twin Tub Washing Machine that drains into the Shower Waste. The door has been taken off. However, it could be turned back into a shower as no changes to walls and the shower head is 'still there'.

I fitted an expanding rail, purchased on eBay, in the shower/loo but it normally only gets used for hanging our Packtowls on. And there are a couple of Command hooks on the inside of the door (where they can hang while we're showering because the shower curtain covers them up). They dry a bit better hanging in the middle, though.
If we know we're going to be staying somewhere with a facilities block, we might hang coats in there, but we're increasingly staying in places where we're dependent on our own resources, so they just get in the way, and we only use it for coats after being caught in a downpour.
The time it was useful, though, was on a longer trip where I used a laundrette and needed to hang things up to dry afterwards. Fortunately there was a B&M next door where I could by some cheap and slim hangers!

Our Dreamer has a wardrobe in the shower that swings out when we use the shower. A brilliant design.
Yes, that's very cunning! (About 3 mins into the video, if others are interested.)

i should have added that i installed an external shower point 18 months ago, its actually been quite useful for a few reasons ....

I just use this if I can’t be bothered converting the wardrobe back to a shower… showering with nature… may start using it on rallies too! 🤪😱

The autotrail imala i had, had a removable rail already fitted for this purpose. I used to dry clothes in there all the time
I have an Imala and the previous van a Tribute was the same set up and the rail is handy for wet coats etc but don't use it as a wardrobe as both vans have a decent wardrobe . heres a stock pic (not mine).

Ours is a decent size, we put a small plug in towel rail in there great to have lovely warm towel, it comes out when using shower. Also good for drying smalls etc.

Thankfully SWMBO hasn't thought of taking ball gowns, though she seems to carry dresses for many different occasions :whatthe:
She took 12 dresses on our last tour & used......none of them

We tend to use facilities on site but if we're off grid, I get the pleasure of emptying the wardrobe/shower & replacing all the dresses once it's been dried down :mm:

Sharon and Serina egg each other on to buy more unworn dresses which just magnifies the unreasonable shower storage problems…

Rene is getting bored taking everything in and out, so maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel! ✔️

My fear is she will request garage space, which would be a big fat NO! 🤪🤣
