I thought it was D4Drivers on the Internet

He also comes to Northampton. Moulton park industrial estate . Only last year he became a female doc. And a fair bit younger. And yes they do a eye test.

It an excellent value for money service and far cheaper then your own doctor.

Hopefully just them, there are several other companies offering a similar service.

Yes. I think it’s just them at the moment. An undercover reporter booked an appointment and the story appeared in the Daily Express whatever that is.
It may start a witch hunt though. It’s a big saving from GP prices

I had an HGV medical a few years ago done by gettingamedical.co.uk £48 and I think they are still the same price.

I went with one of these cheap doctors only to get the from done for hgv. Get service for the form but useless for a medical. I think you should be forced to use your GP.

It took less than 10 min which is a joke. I regularly see my GP so was not worried about the medical side.

Well my medical must have been thorough enough as I'm still here :)
I understand what you're saying but I do object to my GP wanting three times as much to fill out the same form.

It is the same form used for both HGV drivers and C1 renewal

When i did my HGV in 2017 I asked my doctor to do the form and they wanted an enourmous amount of money nearly 3 times that of what i got it for from looking on the internet and using the Bus companies doctor that operate when i live. I am pretty sure if the council use this doctor to certify their drivers its good enough for me, and at a fraction of the cost. happy days, its a shame they are charging so much at the local gp, the other issue is that my GP is taking appointments 6 weeks in advance due to them being busy. Not any good for me at the time either.

The company i used was this one Here

Why should you be forced to use a more expensive service. If it was all about safety it would be free. They have ground the wages down for hgv drivers is it any wonder that they should take advantage of a cheaper service.

See my comment made immediately afterwards, Peter. I did keep up...

Do keep up, Peter.........
Now now. You added that after I quoted your post didn't you .................................

You are supposed to keep up before your were told to keep up, not afterwards ...................:ROFLMAO:

Got my medical done by HGV Medical Wales. £60. Sent in forms,DVLA then wrote to my own doctor to verify details on forms which he did. DVLA then wrote to my cardiac consultant to verify what the doctor said, which he did. DVLA then asked for a treadmill test, passed with flying colours and eventually got my C1 back in 8 weeks.

Apart from being more expensive our doctors tell you when they will do it despite the fact you’re paying them so could be a loss of a day’s worth wages on top of the medical.
