Do Folk With Woosh Bang Door Vans...

My bros Wildax whoosh bang door covers the fridge vent so he either has to close/open the door to regulate the vent or the fridge turns off ☹️
opening the door window sort of works sometimes 🤔

Sometimes it sounds like this closing..

Our fridge is on the opposite side of the door in our Wildax, I wonder what the differences are in layout by model

It's a 2020ish Constellation XL 3 on the Citroen base if that means anything?

Over to Bobnick, he's the expert😁

...go in and out of them more often than folk with normal motorhomes?

JJ
We now have a PVC and i would say compared to a coachbuilt normal motorhome that has access to various hatches for outside storage yes.
But i personally slowly slide the door and push with both hands one each side this shuts the door quietly, unless the van next door has screeming kids or barking dog

Well yes but it's not only the sliding door it's the back door(s) too and the front passenger doors as they try to remember where they left something. Was on a site in Croatia sith PVCs to left, right, behind and in front. It started raining. It was like an orchestra of drummers as everyome rushed to put all their outdoor things away. All doors going, front, back, side. Whoosh bang, bang, slam, bang, whoosh bang, slam, bang, etc. Left that site the next day for obvious reasons.

Why is it they are quiet all even then at 11pm they start woosh banging their door every 15 min until about 1 am and then start again at 6 am.
Because we know all you non whoosh bangers are lying there listening for it and we know you get upset if we do not satisfy your needs...

Side door also covers our fridge vents but I have never had trouble with fridge switching off
In addition I feel it actually helps the fridge in bright sunshine by keeping sun off area of fridge and there is still enough room between door and fridge to also adequate ventilation.

It's the noise of the whoosh-bang door that sets them off.

I don’t have any back doors and don’t woosh bang my sliding door. If outside I slide it slowly till it’s nearly shut then push at the rear of the door where the locking mechanism is and it clicks almost silently locked.
From the inside I do the same but lock it with a handle I retro fitted. It closes quieter than most coach builds.

Just wondering which PVC converter fits the electric soft close side door? I know I have seen them, but cannot remember which van it was on.
Might be a great opportunity for someone to supply & fit an aftermarket product, or supply only for the DIY market.
But I guess it might spoil the fun for some.:giggle:

After market electric door closers are available for most whoosh bangs but they really need to be fitted during conversion because the mechanism is fairly large and would require the total rebuild/design of any fixtures and fittings in the area of door and a good way behind door..
I did look at them but was totally inpractible to retro fit.👍
