Dissatisfied with iD Mobile's Coverage and Support

Husband has ID, i have EE
I never have coverage when he doesn’t, he often has coverage when I don’t.
It probably depends on the area. When I had id Liz often had a signal on O2 when I didn't. Now I'm on Lebara if there's no signal it's 50/50 who's is better

Of course depends on area, I was just pointing out that changing from ID to EE not necessarily helpful for better coverage.

I think for most people it's the coverage near where you live that's the biggest factor. Up here in North Yorkshire ID mobile coverage was pretty poor. I'm not sure what EE goes on but it could be better than ID here. I think if the coverage is poor it's probably best to ask your local friends.

Are ID SIM cards now suitable for a mifi? When I got one a few years ago it wasn't but have things changed ?

It may not be just down to the network though, it could be your phones. The same SIM can produce surprisingly different results if tried in two different phones.

Similarly, a new phone may connect to a mast better than an older generation MiFi even if the MiFi has an external aerial.

One thing I am sure about is around 86 or 87 I had a big brick of a phone and in them days only had a few places where I didn’t get a signal!! Now seems to be about 50/50 So much for progress 🤔🤔

I received an email from the 'complaints dept' asking me to call them to discuss.

6 attempts to ring, 4 I was in locations where the signal was so poor the call would not connect, including Newcastle City centre. When successful I was on hold with a recorded message for 25 minutes and gave up. Last attempt on hold for 55 minutes before call was answered.

To be fair, they were helpful, acknowledged the issues and were honest enough to say there would be no improvement in the near future.

Outcome is they will issue a PAC code and allow transfer to another network and cancel the contract.

Still infuriating that their coverage map shows good signal both indoors and out though they see very poor coverage at their end.
