Dirty bastards - toilet emptying

You obviously drive a mega gin palace Christ with silver service and all. Many including myself prefer something more meagre in terms of size and opulence. We don't have room for a second water closet. But we can get to places that you can only dream of. ;) :giggle:
You don't have room for one cassette in that puddle jumper 😁 but ill bet ive got to every place and more with a van twice the size of yours 😉

Just to put this into perspective, many of you would have been Scouts & Guides or in the Cadets or Army.
From Roman times up until the 1990's, when greenfield camping it was standard operation practice to dig a big hole and dump hundreds of kilos of waste, a fair amount of water and then just put earth over the top.

Whilst it's mostly biodegradable, archaeologists will be excavating our middens in the millenia to come to analyse what we eat and see what got dropped in accidently.

I think in this case education would have been better than trying to get the authorities involved, explain that you can't dump a cassette down a rain drain, there are loo's within a short distance that do the job a lot better.

I suspect a lot of filthy liquids get dumped down the drains of large car parks, the contents of the odd cassette now and again is not going to make much difference.

Not if the route involves a height barrier N-raider. The California at under 2m will fit comfortably under all height barriers and multi story car parks. See you on the other side.... ;) :giggle:

It’s a waste of good waste…. He could of saved it and emptied while cyclists were behind him….
The cyclists would retaliate by disposing of their "liquid waste" in the fuel tank.
(Happened to a friend of mine at a classic car rally)

Why on earth would i want in to those?

Someone could just have told them without reporting it to anyone they thought might be bothered.

triclops did try to tell them they should not empty waste as they were but the attitude he encountered was such that he thought it needed to be taken further.

I find it strange that when these things are reported a number of people ask for evidence and say the behavoiur should be reported - and when there is evidence and it is reported then the opposite view comes into play (let them do it and don't interfere).

For what it is worth I commend triclops on his action and hope that there is a very slim chance that on reflection the miscreants took on board what was said and will act more responsibly in future. I doubt it but ever the optimist.

Not for everyone I know NR but I have been at it for decades in most sizes and shapes but we now tend to use hotels while touring abroad with the camper parked outside for daily use and night stop-overs. Traveling is a pleasure, then if you fancy parking up on route it is a doddle. I'm sure as you age you will start to appreciate these real life pleasure's too... :giggle:

Yee have more faith in your fellow campers than I Oldchappers. The thousands parked along the med sea front with no public loo in sight, with only the beach to bury it , frightened to leave your prime sea frontage case someone moves into your space. I've been camping for over 40 years yet never come across anyone doing what cats do with their dung.

Faith? No. I just wouldn’t dream of messing up a place I have specifically come to enjoy. Seems counter-productive. Treating any place with a lack of respect would give me no right to complain when someone craps on my doorstep… however my complaining would be the last of their worries as extricating the cassette from it’s new mounting would more than occupy their thought process.

Standard practice on Caravan Club rallies when we started rallying 30 years ago.

My final few comments on this: yes, the 2 pictures I posted were from inside of the van as the photos I took going across the carpark were blurred - I find walking with my crutch and trying to take photos at the same time a little bit difficult.
None of the councils I contacted had any information about what to do about this, and passed me on to the next council.
The police have contacted me to say that it was not something that they would deal with.
And Southwaite Services have not replied to my voice message.
So - nothing to see here, just move along.
So…. There you have it, this thread is all for nothing as it’s perfectly legal to dump your waste anywhere…
The cops will not deal with it, the council’s don’t want to know and the services can’t be arsed…

keep calm and carry on 💩💩

If everybody did it they would, looks like it doesn't matter at the scale it's happening at now.

A Certain breed of travelers do this all the time and no one has ever prosecuted them

Unless it is sign posted waste dump anybody in the right mind knows not to dump in a water drain.

And those places might be someone else’s nightmare, lots drive 8/9m MH’s and get to everywhere they need to.

They might not of prosecuted them but we successfully moved them off my mates CS this week, three caravans booked up, all CaCC members. They were ok on Wednesday, Thursday they started playing up, they were asked to leave, they 'told' us at lunchtime Thursday they were staying until Monaday while they threw their rubbish all about the place, by 8 o'clock on Thursday evening they were gone... Apparently they are coming back to 'tourch' the place, we'll see.

What happened between lunchtime and 8.00pm to make them change their minds ??

Hi There,
I would never dump a dump in a drain like this, not would I condone their action.
But.... it does raise the issue that if there were to be service points in service areas, we could all do the right thing in the right place. You don't see this sort of action in places where they are set up for the Motorhomes. If we are expecting to see an increase in Motorhome use in the UK for the next few years, local councils, service station operators and carpark owners that allow overnight parking might consider putting in a service point and a bin to help the hard of understanding do the right thing.

D

I think apart from the lack of common sense & decent behaviour aspect of doing this it also gives all of us a bad name. All the efforts made to be considerate are undermined by one act carried out, especially in such a public place. It's the same kind of behaviour as fly tipping.

Now if this motorhome had a composting / dry toilet this would never have happened . The pee could have been poured in the bushes and the poo put in the waste bin with the burger boxes etc.

Does anybody recognise this motorhome?
Dirty bastards! Southwaite Services M6 southbound - emptying their toilet down the car park drain.
When I told them that they weren’t suppose to dump the toilet there just said they didn’t know that and nobody had told them any different 🤬🤬
What dirty scumbags, and what a pi$$
poor excuse, nobody told them my ar$$
It's the likes of him that's causing us all problems.

The number of lads that turned up to politely ask them to move on, I've no idea if there will be repercussions.
Brilliant! people must stand up to this sort of vermin, they are worse than rats ☹️

I totally agree.
However, there’s still an education part to play by the companies who sell and rent motorhomes. Otherwise, there’ll be situations where a service stop has a bourne and the uneducated are still tipping down a drain or emptying their grey waste on the road.

I’ve just heard reports of people emptying the toilet into Scottish lochs
It was highlighted on Radio 2
by a resident of Strathpeffer who incidentally was not against visitors or Motorhomes .
