Difficulty seeing a vet

On holiday last week in Hampshire, our dog sustained a minor injury. We rang round the local vets as I was keen to have her examined but we couldn't get an appointment. We ended up driving home to see our usual vet. I spoke to our vet about the difficulty getting an appointment whilst on holiday and he said that the vets are really busy, nationwide and many of them are refusing to see pets not registered with them.

I just thought I would post this to alert others to the situation. Our dog is recovering, with rest and painkillers.
