I want to mount my dosing pump in a sealed junction box under the van and pack the box with foam to keep the noise down. Anyone know if they get hot or will foam be ok?

The pump produces very little heat, but you might not reduce the noise as much as you think as anything in contact with the pump transfers it's clicking.
The best results come from hanging the pump from cable ties.
I have tried several methods of quietening the pump and hanging from cable ties gives the best results.

Is it ok to hang it exposed under van?

I mounted mine on these hangers 18 months ago. I also added some accoustic foam around the pump, mainly to keep the weather off. If it is really quiet out, I can just hear the pump running.
Dont forget to mount it at about a 45 degree angle.
