We have three dogs, Bruno 19month old Frenchie, Bella four and a half year old Frenchie and Ronnie 14 year old Pug.
I didn’t think Ronnie would see her birthday on the eighteenth of December but she rallied round and seemed ok, not only that but she seemed to keep on going, however the last two weeks she has gone downhill. Hanging on hoping that she would drift off naturally, but the old bugger was determined to carry on, yesterday she was particularly bad, and I was certain she wouldn’t see out the night, this morning still there on a separate bed in the small conservatory where our back door is, I had to pull the bed out as it was partially under a chair and I couldn’t reach her the wooden floor was wet so she had wet herself at some point, took her out as she no longer seemed capable of using the dog flap. Phoned the vets and could only get her in at 4.20 this evening, meanwhile she soiled herself on the fresh bed on the bed, the floor and herself, cleaned her up but still smelly. Our vet Kate said that they very rarely seem to go naturally, so sometime next week we will get her cremated ashes in a small cask and she can join the others caskets Pug, 2 boxers, Labrador, Shitz tzu and 4 cats, top of the cupboard is getting a bit crowded. So bye to Ronnie and go and see your mate Rooney, the Pug who we lost when they were both eight.
