Hi all. Just been up to storage to put stuff in Motorhome and found the headlight glass broken. Does anyone know where I could purchase one. It is passenger side on a right hand drive 2013 Dethleffs advantage.

It's a complete unit I'm afraid, not just the glass.
I was quoted £1013 for one from a UK dealer.
I didn't fancy paying that, so got a friend in Germany to get one for me from a dealer there for €725.

OMG

This was done whilst in storage. We put it back when we came back from Malvern. I went to the office and the boss is away on holiday until Tuesday. The guy I spoke to said, "we noticed it when you brought it back", what a liar, I know it was fine when I put it back because I always check all the way around when I leave it.
I asked could I see the cctv footage and he said, "no"
I said maybe I should go to the police, and he said, quote."the police will not want to know, as this is private land"
I have steam coming out of my ears.

Any advice appreciated.

Is the storage site a Silver or Gold CaSSOA registered site?
If so, might it be worth a call to them to see if they can put pressure on the site to produce the cctv?

I don't think so. What do you think my chances are?

Sorry I agree with TheBig1 ?

Most likely done while grass cutting and they quite likely didn’t even know

Proving it would be near impossible

They have cctv but won't let me look at it.

What does your contract with the site say then in relation to provision of cctv in respect of damage \ theft? No point in having cctv if you \ your insurers \ police can't access it.
Guess if you can't get access to evidence you'll need to bite the bullet and stump up or put through insurance.

Is the CCTV permanently on your MH? If not all you can say it was not broken when you parked it

You will be very lucky to pick up the actual breakage on CCTV unless very close

Our Hymer suffers an exploding glass syndrome, often while parked, really hope it doesn’t apply to Dethleffs as well

Edit - the odd thing is they didn’t mention it when you came in, just as casual conversation if they had spotted it

nor do they have any obligation to show you. assuming its working as a great many are just for show. your storage contract no doubt has small print stating that they take no responsibility for your property on their premises. every one i have seen has clauses to that nature

Who’s to say anyone has damaged it, some of the reported Hymer headlights appear to have just shattered whilst parked up.
I put Lamin-X on ours (Hymer) last year and it’s invisible when applied. A little tricky to apply if you use the thicker stuff but should resist the odd stone thrown up.
Just wish I could apply it to the windscreen for peace of mind.

C&MC storage facilities have a clause that says they are not responsible for damage unless caused by them, their employees or agents .....
but agree a number of other facility providers will waive all responsibility for damage.

Surely the 'safe' storage compound must have insurance for such eventualities ?
Ask them for their insurance details and then contact Trading Standards if they fob you off?

As said above they'll have clauses that waive all responsibility. C&MC is the only one I've seen that has "unless by them ..........." in it.

Been quoted £1554.11 from Pullingers.
Still awaiting to hear from Dethleffs Owners Club and Lowdhams.
I am gutted.
