has anyone used a dentist in Europe when away from the uk, i need to see a dentist soon, i was thinking it would be cheaper to have my teeth done when i am travelling next year sometime. prices in the uk for private are crazy

I laughed when I read that, as our teeth seem to give up the ghost when we cross the channel! Both myself & my husband have used dentists in Spain for broken teeth, fillings, infections….! Yes, it is much cheaper! We went to a dentist in Torrevieja which specialises in dental tourists - all sorts of cosmetic stuff. They spoke english & were very good & fairly cheap. Not as cheap as the extremely large German lady dentist near Alcossebre, who had taxidermy owls on the ceiling of the surgery! Disconcerting, but she was very good, & it was an emergency! All in all, a quick google near your destination will find English speaking dentists, at quite good rates.

I had a double crown in my bottom left hand jaw fitted at La Manga
From the first examination which included impressions , X-rays to the fitting of the crown took 4 days
And the cost was €330
Had I had the same treatment in the U.K. my own said it would have been nearer £750
The treatment and service I received was second to none and the dentist was about 27 , female very attractive and spoke perfect English
That was about 5 years ago

More or less same prices here.
My Uk mate has his repaired when here usually.

We always use a Spanish dentist local to us,absolutely brilliant and all implants,crowns etc are made on the premises by their own Technicians.
