day out locally south yorkshire

 Isn't that a strange request bearing in mind that you live there?

Not every one's choice but I enjoy walking the canals - flat, decent paths, wildlife, interesting Industrial Revolution buildings...........it depends what interests you.

Did not realize you could park up and leave at Wentworth and Elsecar thought it was just for patrons . Somebody told me Rothervalley closed .So will try Don't know the one at Top Forge will look up .Tried Rabbit Ings nice large car park and walking Free .Also Worsborough Mill and Country Park Cafe and walks Pay and Display .Thank you.

We spend a lot of time around here. It's beautiful albeit a bit wet sometimes.
Easy parking at Winscar Res car park or on the road near to where it says Cooks Study on the map( near Snailsden Res which is popular with open water swimmers)
You also have the old railway line at Dunford Bridge with easy parking (Pennine trail) where you can walk on the flat for as far as you would probably want.
