Data SIM restrictions

Vodaphone state that (in T&Cs) data Sims are not allowed in Phones. As I was about to use a spare phone as a hotspot I would like to know if this is enforced.

Depends on the phones I've found in a Samsung it didn't work .
In a Cubot ,it works fine .
You can't make phone calls but Skype or internet calls you can .ihf

Glad I went for the EE one then, that's working in Ann's Samsung phone as a hot spot

I use a phone as a hotspot with a phone SIM, am doing so now in France. Vodafone so allows full data allowance. Normally we have around 4 things connected via the phone. (laptop, two tablets and Satnav) and it still works as normal.
