I hate magpies .. when I lived in the countryside they killed all my baby white doves AND one group of my baby lop eared rabbits. Didn't eat them .. just killed for the sake of it .

They spend hrs just working their way down a hedgerow pecking open all the song bird eggs they are the most destructive birds we have

Hi. Just got back from the Highlands, and I'm glad to report that Cuckoo's are seemingly doing very well indeed. We heard them all over the Highlands, but didn't hear any when we dropped down to Moffat for a couple of days on our way home, even though we drove to Loch Of The Lowes and St Mary's Loch area, incl Megget Res. Strange I thought.
