For those of you wondering whether you should bother, this has just been announced

The anti-pollution scheme in place in many large cities is set to be extended to 10 more areas by the end of next year. Stickers are already required to be displayed by any vehicles entering Paris, Rennes, Grenoble, Lyon, Strasbourg & Toulouse. By 2020 they will also be required in Clermont Ferrand, Marseille, Aix en Provence, Annecy, St Etienne, Reims, Toulon & Rouen.

I’ve got mine but try to keep away from anywhere it’s needed!

Ordered mine yesterday.
There may be a greater demand for them if Bordeaux gets included although Rouen is not easy to bypass.

I have mine and the german one stuck to a piece of hard clear plastic, you can't get them off the windscreen, so much easier to put away when not required.

I actually have a sticker(y)

You would still need bloody ropes to get me in the country though.

They have got a bloody cheek if you ask me, them French:mad:

Much the same , though I realise mine is stuck the wrong side of the windscreen.

No it it supposed to be on the drivers side of a RHD - - - - LHD Nearsides

Put mine on the passenger side UK R/H drive, means I put mine on the wrong side. Does it really matter so long as you have one ?

What IS a crit` air?. Are the frogs having a go at my 3 on the front of my (bald) head?.

This is what I find confusing, according to the recommended website Bordeaux has been in it since 2016.

But on our recent Morocco trip there were loads of french with very few sporting crit'air stickers, and when I asked a few of them the general concensus was that it s only an issue if you re going to Paris.

Bordeaux is in the Gironde/Bordeaux ZPA zone, which is only activated under certain weather conditions, rather than a permanent ZCA zone.

Which seems to be the case for most of the others.

Are the zones 24hrs, 7 days a week or only certain times/days?

Most of the ones that I have looked at have to be invoked by the local council at times of high pollution only, some City centres like Paris may be permanent or possibly 8AM to 8PM.

We have had to replace our windscreen and unfortunately couldn’t get the crit’air sticker off :( so will have to get another one.

Anyone know to compress a pdf file on an iPad as the copy of V5 has to be less than 400KB?

I can't for the life of me reduce the size of my scan of my V5 to the required size.

(Would I be right in assuming that these certificates are only required if entering the city limits? I plan to visit Versailles soon, so will the certificate be in force on the outskirts of Paris?)

As they say in France -

One man's meat is another man's Poisson

I totally understand your problem. I sat determined not to be beaten by this problem for over an hour then came across a little program that was so simple, even I could use it but I cannot remember what it was called, it was something like compress.com (that was NOT the name) and it did the job in seconds. Perhaps someone will know the name:active: and let us know.

Pretty sure the sticker needs to be fixed to the windscreen itself.
It has anti tamper features which are pointless if not fixed correctly.

@rosalan

Thanks for that - I have at last managed to order a sticker(y)

The programme is called ‘pdfcompressorcom’

- for cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, buses and coaches, it is affixed inside the vehicle, visible from the outside, on the lower right part of the windscreen;
- for motorized two-wheelers, tricycles and quadricycles, it shall be affixed, recto visible on the outside, on any surface situated at the front of the plane formed by the fork.

Since 2017, various departments announced air protection zones covering entire regions. In the case of high air pollution, the prefecture can decide to make the Crit’Air badge mandatory and exclude one or several types of vehicles from the traffic, depending on their Crit’Air category.

Yes, if you read the website both French and German need to affix directly to the windscreen.

Now time to confuse the issue even more :D2:D2:D2
Is that lower right part of the window screen as viewed from the inside or from the outside :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
