Hi all. When I bought my Mercedes Sprinter 2005 in October, the sales guy advised I put 75 PSI in all 4 tyres. The manual states, 3.5 bar front and 5.5 bar back, or in PSI, 51 front, 65 rear.
Not sure what to do for the best ?
Any observations, experience please ?
Thanks..Rich

there are a million threads on this ... well quite a few !!!;)

you need your axle weights and tyre sizes and then contact the tyre manufacture or there are a few reliable tables on the tinternet you can look up.

75 is far too high in the front.
Weigh the van and get the axle weights in the state you normally drive then ask the tyre manufacture.

Low pressures will give poor mpg, Too high will give an uncomfortable ride. Get the correct pressures for your axle weights from the tyre manufacturers. Mine are 52psi front and 69psi rear on mercedes aclass.

Those are the pressures I have been using in my van for a long time, 3.5 ton Autotrail. Vanco Camper tyres No problems

Just to mention 5.5 bar is actually circa 80 psi, rather than 65 psi.

But otherwise agree with the other comments made in the thread.

oops good spot mikebeaches, it's a typo from me.
Should be 3.5 bar front, 4.5 bar rear, PSI ' s were correctly quoted i.e 51 front and 65 rear

This is a link to Continentals guide for their tyres, 129 pages
page 76 mentions camper van and then the size listings which follow include camper tyres, look for CP after size. Then tyres pressures are shown based on axle weights
a good reason to have the van weighed.
