Hello everyone from sunny Lincolnshire
Adding a second 95AH leisure battery soon as just fitted 200Watt solar
I have some 16mm battery cable I'm wondering if this is big enough or will I need larger as total theoretical amperage could be 190A
Am I right in my theory?
Appreciate thoughts and also best crimps to fit
Thanks

I would use the same thickness cables as go to the original battery. Otherwise something around 25mm should be fine, 16 sounds a bit thin. :)

I've used these people to make up cables:

No, it doesn't work like that. 95Ah is 95 amp-hours, not amps. For example, it would supply 9.5A for 10 hours, 4.75A for 20 hours, etc. The maximum amps you should draw from this battery is the Ah capacity divided by 5, which is 95/5 = 19A. For two batteries, double that, to 38A. It's not a hard limit, just a recommendation for best battery life.

Anyway, the important factor is the voltage drop in the cables. If your cables are thick enough for acceptable voltage drop, they will be more than OK for amps capacity.
