Very very unfairThe man who so far has failed to predict anything correctly and who could not even wash his own hands and keep 2m apart without catching Covid mmm
I do not think so, he may be a bit cleverer than me and have more knowledge but he predicted that 20,000 deaths would be a bad outcome, over 50,000 later we still have people dying, he caught it and spread it, he stopped testing and track and tracing, he did not advocate quarantine in the early stages for travellers coming here.. He has lost all my faith in him I am afraid.Very very unfair
Hubby's just told me that Prof Chris Whitty is giving a briefing at 11.00 am.

Agree but please don't get me started on on Boris and Hancock...You actually don’t know the detail advice he gave
and it was the government not him who made those decision
Prof WhittySo who are you actually talking about ?
What do you suggest we do, as a country, to reduce the infection rates?I do not think so, he may be a bit cleverer than me and have more knowledge but he predicted that 20,000 deaths would be a bad outcome, over 50,000 later we still have people dying, he caught it and spread it, he stopped testing and track and tracing, he did not advocate quarantine in the early stages for travellers coming here.. Oi! I started this thread to give INFO on what is being said today, not for you lot to have a debate about who you like/trust or not ... if you want to have a spat about 'personalities' go start your own thread and leave this one to give info to those who are interested.
Take notice of what we are told to do..BUSBY.What do you suggest we do, as a country, to reduce the infection rates?

The figure you quoted is after they fiddled the figures, if they used the original method of reporting there would be another 5-6k deaths...To be precise!.....................
On 17 March, Sir Patrick Vallance, the government's chief scientific adviser, said keeping the number of UK deaths below 20,000 would be a "good result" from the COVID-19 pandemic.
"If we can get this down to 20,000 and below, that is a good outcome in terms of where we would hope to get to with this outbreak," he told a committee of MPs.
Coronavirus: Experts once said 20,000 deaths was a 'good outcome' - so where is the UK headed now?
With the UK having passed the level that was previously considered a "good result" - how many deaths could there now be?news.sky.com
Total deaths from covid.......... 41,777 and NOT over 50,000!
Pete
You mean stopped counting an RTA as a COVID death if the car crash happened within 30days of a positive covid test?...after they fiddled the figures...
Perhaps see what Germany have done for starters, clear instructions, masks mandatory indoors, testing capacity and tracing etc. But I am not an expert all I said was I lost faith in him as someone to listen to based on hos track record not that I know better....What do you suggest we do, as a country, to reduce the infection rates?
I guess so but I have always said majority have died with it not of it....You mean stopped counting an RTA as a COVID death if the car crash happened within 30days of a positive covid test?

sod it, have missed it..
How about a few of your own ideas with detail how you would implement them. A bit less criticism and a few more of your resolutions would be a step in the right direction. Boris will be broadcasting his intensions live tomorrow, what would you like him to say???.I do not think so, he may be a bit cleverer than me and have more knowledge but he predicted that 20,000 deaths would be a bad outcome, over 50,000 later we still have people dying, he caught it and spread it, he stopped testing and track and tracing, he did not advocate quarantine in the early stages for travellers coming here..
