On another note our actual civil partnership ceremony was today in 2017.
Yes we both remembered, hence the nice fillet steak lunch.
Unfortunately we forgot to put the champagne in the fridge, it's in now.
A lovely rose Taittinger his nana got us before we set off.
I did mention a few posts ago about the many days I need to remember but this day was super special as we shared it with 130 guests in our origional home in the north east.
❤️

Used to buy that until we discovered Les Ormes de Cambras, similar price but much smoother.
I do love a supermarket recommended wine, we do love the top end but saving for retirement so need to keep the wine budget sensible.
Ok sort of 🤪.
We are terrible if we see a amazing wine, just can't help ourselves.

Beans on toast is simple ,
The meals you too throw together are a quiet magical,
It’s our 40 wedding anniversary to day ,
We went to our fairly local to us Hartland quay Devon for lunch
My wife had cod chips and i had ham egg and chips,
Im not a bit jealous 🤢. Honestly

That's ok, I've got 15 bottles coming from a wine club tomorrow

You also had a good lunch and a great place to be. 👍

We were there a couple of years ago and enjoyed a lovely meal at Côté Mer for my 70th birthday. Fantastic selection of oysters at Le marché aux huîtres and there was a van selling wine so everyone sits on the wall eating oysters and drinking.
Yep - white wine in (small) plastic cups.

If you wanted cutlery and table cloths, you could pay a small fortune at any of the restaurants along the 'front' but if you simply wanted to enjoy eating the oysters - less than a quarter of the price, c. €1 apiece - served on disposable plastic oyster plates with half a lemon and a handful of blueroll, by a dozen middle aged ladies from their individual stalls.

I helped a Belgian couple earlier at the entrance to gain entry.
To repay my kindness (anybody would have helped i believe) they invited us for drinks and snacks at 6pm.
A wonderful chat and exchange of experiences. Lovely.
Now a quick supper, it's a glorious evening just awaiting the sunset plus phil is a happy bunny as he has done his laundry choices. We may stay tommorow at least to look in the town.

Fillet steak with a pepper sauce (i add mushrooms as well), skin on fries with a side salad.
First andforemost Phil & Gareth
CONGRATULATIONS from both Rita and I. 🍾 🥂🍾🥂🍾🥂

Not fillet, but definitely with peppercorn sauce and skin on fries......but none of that fungi stuff you insist on putting on your plates. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I'm not an expert but Cardenal Mendoza is a very good brandy, not cheap stuff(y)
and congratulations on your anniversary! 🥂
In my younger years I was quite partial to a brandy or 2. Cardenal Mendoza was an occasional tipple although I found it rather sweet and preferred a Gran Duque de Alba or a Lepanto, Carlos I is a good one too. Cheers.

Loving following your food and travel as usual.
Thanks for taking the time to share guys
Enjoy 🍷

What a lovely town Josselin is, after a look about we picked up some bread ,visited the church and went for lunch.
Philip had the foie gras and I had the gravalax
The main course lamb we both had was amazing, we then finished with a crème brûlèe and a chocolate mouse with Bretan shortbread.
After lunch more ambling about with a look at the chateau with river views.
Oooh a bar was spotted 😄

As we didn't get to do a bike ride we are thinking maybe another day here, feeling very lazy as its quite warm, so camping behaviour is now in process.

Oh dear, posting twice now are we? 😂

The bike ride was cancelled due to rain.
We have moved to Rochefort-en-Terre.
Looked for a bakery on Google maps and it's just bringing up biscuits and nouget shops, oh well as the lady said "let them eat cake" or in this instance biscuits 😜
I will advise later 😋
